Ingredients
- 1½ lbs beef liver, sliced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Method
- Season the liver with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Lightly coat each piece with flour.
- Heat 1 tablespoon butter and the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onions and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Cook the liver for about 2–3 minutes per side, until browned.
- Return the onions to the skillet and pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce thickens and the liver reaches a safe internal temperature.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
