Ingredients
- 1½ lb (680 g) sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp sesame oil, optional
Instructions
- Make the sauce: Whisk soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, black pepper, and sesame oil together.
- Sear the beef: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the steak in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the vegetables: Add the remaining oil, then sauté the peppers and onion for 3–5 minutes until slightly tender. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Combine: Return the steak to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
- Serve: Spoon over hot white rice and garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
🔥 Tip: Slice the steak thinly against the grain for tender, restaurant-style beef.
