🍞 Bread Pudding

• 6 cups day-old bread, cubed• 2 cups

whole milk• 1 cup heavy cream• 4

large eggs• ¾ cup granulated sugar• ½

cup packed brown sugar• 2 tsp vanilla

extract• 1 tsp ground cinnamon• ½

tsp nutmeg• ¼ tsp salt• ½ cup raisins•

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Sauce:• ½ cup unsalted butter•

½ cup brown sugar• ½ cup heavy

cream• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Place the cubed bread in the

prepared dish and sprinkle the raisins

evenly over the top.

3. In a large bowl,

whisk together the milk, heavy

cream, eggs, granulated sugar, brown

sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg,

and salt.4. Pour the custard mixture

evenly over the bread. Gently press

the bread down so it absorbs the

custard. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.

5. Drizzle the melted butter over the

top.

6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, until the

pudding is golden brown and the

center is set but still slightly soft.

7. While the pudding bakes, make the

sauce. Melt the butter in a saucepan

over medium heat. Stir in the brown

sugar and heavy cream and simmer

for 3–4 minutes, stirring until smooth.

Remove from the heat and stir in the

vanilla.8. Let the bread pudding cool

for about 10 minutes, then drizzle

generously with the warm sauce.

9. Serve warm with extra sauce,

whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla

ice cream.
