Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1Β½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2β3 bananas)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Β½ tsp salt
- Β½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Β½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans, optional
For the Glaze:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ΒΌ cup heavy cream or milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and line a 9Γ13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Stir just until combined, then fold in the chopped nuts if using.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25β30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- While the brownies cool, make the glaze. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and cream. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2β3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt. Let the glaze cool for a few minutes.
- Pour the warm glaze over the slightly cooled banana brownies and spread evenly.

Tip: For extra moist banana brownies, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots.
