🥘Classic Green Bean Casserole

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1½ cups crispy fried onions, divided
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the sauce: In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Combine: Stir in the drained green beans and 1 cup of crispy fried onions. Add cheddar cheese if using.
  4. Bake: Spread the mixture into the baking dish and bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
  5. Add the topping: Stir the casserole gently, then sprinkle the remaining ½ cup crispy fried onions over the top.
  6. Finish baking: Return to the oven for another 5–10 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the onions are golden.
  7. Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. 🥘🧅

Tip: Add the crispy onions only toward the end so they stay golden and crunchy.
