Ingredients
- 1½ lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose baking mix
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Pickles, for serving (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
- Drain any excess grease. Stir in the garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Cook for another minute.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared pie dish.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the beef.
- In a bowl, whisk together the baking mix, milk, eggs, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Let the pie rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with extra ketchup, mustard, and pickles if desired.
